अर्थ : यदि आपका प्रिय सौ बार भी रूठ जाए तो भी रूठे हुए प्रिय को मनाना चाहिए, क्योंकि यदि मोतियों की माला टूट जाए तो उन मोतियों को बार-बार पिरोना चाहिए।

समय पाय फल होत है, समय पाय झरी जात।
सदा रहे नहिं एक सी, का रहीम पछितात।।
अर्थ : रहीम कहते हैं कि पेड़ सही समय पर फल देता है। जब गिरने का समय आता है तो वह गिर जाता है। हर समय किसी की भी स्थिति एक जैसी नहीं रहती, इसलिए दुःख के समय पछताना व्यर्थ है।
Samay paay phal hot hain, samay paye jhari Jaat.
sada rahe nahin ek Si,ka rahim pachitat.
Meaning : Rahim says that the tree bears fruit at the right time. When the time comes to fall, he falls. No one’s situation remains the same all the time, so regretting in times of sorrow is futile.
दोनों रहिमन एक से, जों लों बोलत नाहिं।
जान परत हैं काक पिक, रितु बसंत के माहिं।।
अर्थ : कौआ और कोयल रंग में एक जैसे होते हैं। जब तक ये बोलेंगे नहीं तब तक इन्हें पहचाना नहीं जा सकेगा. लेकिन जब वसंत ऋतु आती है तो कोयल की मधुर आवाज से दोनों का अंतर स्पष्ट हो जाता है।
Donon rahiman ek se, jon lon bolat naahin.
Jaan parat hain kaka pik,Ritu Basant ke Mahi.
Meaning : Crow and cuckoo are similar in colour. Unless they speak, they will not be recognized. But when spring comes, the difference between the two becomes clear with the sweet voice of the cuckoo.
बड़ा हुआ तो क्या हुआ, जैसे पेड़ खजूर,
पंथी को छाया नहीं, फल लागे अति दूर ।
अर्थ : बड़ा होने का मतलब यह नहीं है कि इससे किसी को फायदा होगा। उदाहरण के लिए, खजूर का पेड़ बहुत बड़ा होता है, लेकिन उसका फल इतना दूर होता है कि उसे तोड़ना कम मुश्किल होता है।

Meaning : Being big does not mean that anyone will benefit from it. For example, the date palm tree is very large, but its fruit is so far apart that it is less difficult to pluck.
जैसी परे सो सहि रहे, कहि रहीम यह देह,
धरती ही पर परत है, सीत घाम औ मेह।।
अर्थ : रहीम कहते हैं कि जो इस शरीर पर पड़ता है-उसे सहन करना चाहिए, क्योंकि सर्दी, गर्मी और वर्षा इसी धरती पर आती है। अर्थात् जैसे पृथ्वी सर्दी, धूप और वर्षा को सहन करती है, उसी प्रकार शरीर को सुख और दुःख को सहन करना चाहिए।
Jaisi pare so Sahi rahe,
kahi rahim yah deh.
Dharti hi per parat hai,
sheet gham aur meh.
Meaning : Rahim says that whatever falls on this body should be tolerated, because winter, heat and rain come on this earth. That is, just as the earth tolerates cold, sun and rain, similarly the body should tolerate happiness and sorrow.
अर्थ : रहीम कहते हैं कि आँखों से आँसू बहकर मन के दुःख को व्यक्त करते हैं। यह सच है कि जिसे घर से निकाल दिया जाएगा वह घर के रहस्य दूसरों को बताएगा।

Meaning : Rahim says that tears flowing from the eyes express the sorrow of the mind. It is true that the one who is thrown out of the house will tell the secrets of the house to others.
रहिमन देखि बड़ेन को, लघु न दीजिए डारि.
जहां काम आवे सुई, कहा करे तरवारि।।
अर्थ : बड़ों को देखकर छोटों को नहीं भगाना चाहिए। क्योंकि जहाँ छोटे का काम होता है, वहाँ बड़ा कुछ नहीं कर सकता। जिस प्रकार सुई का काम तलवार नहीं कर सकती।

Meaning : Young ones should not be chased away after seeing the elders. Because where the work of the small is done, the big cannot do anything. Just as a sword cannot do the work of a needle.
दुःख में सुमिरन सब करे, सुख में करे न कोय ।
जो सुख में सुमिरन करे, तो दुःख काहे होय ।।
अर्थ : दुख में सभी लोग भगवान को याद करते हैं। सुख में तो कोई नहीं करता, सुख में भी याद करोगे तो दु:ख होगा ही नहीं।
सरल वर्णन : इसका सरल अर्थ यह है कि जब हम स्वस्थ होते हैं जब हमारे शरीर में बल होता है, जब हमारी मानसिक अवस्था स्वस्थ होती है तभी हमें अच्छे और लोकोपकारक कार्यों को करना चाहिए। क्योंकि यदि आप उसी समय जब ऐसे कार्य करने की आपमें क्षमता है और आप कर देते हैं तो फिर आपको अपने सत्कार्यों का परिणाम सुख मिलेगा, किंतु आप ऐसा नहीं करते और यदि इसके पश्चात आप दुख प्राप्त करते हैं तो फिर उससे आपकी समस्या हल नहीं होने वाली है। क्योंकि तब सत्कार्यों के लिये आपके पास कोई भी क्षमता नहीं रहती।

Meaning : Everyone remembers God in sorrow. No one does this in happiness, if you remember even in happiness then there will be no sorrow.
रहिमन धागा प्रेम का, मत तोरो चटकाय.
टूटे पे फिर ना जुरे, जुरे गाँठ परी जाय।।
अर्थ : रहीम कहते हैं कि प्रेम का रिश्ता बहुत नाजुक होता है। इसे झटके से तोड़ना उचित नहीं है. प्यार का ये धागा अगर एक बार टूट जाए तो जुड़ना मुश्किल होता है और अगर जुड़ भी जाए तो टूटे हुए धागों के बीच में गांठ पड़ जाती है।
भावार्थ – कवि रहीम कहते हैं की यह जो परस्पर प्रेम रूपी पतला धागा है इसे थोड़े से आवेश या मतभेद में आ जाने के कारण नष्ट नहीं कर देना चाहिए। तोड़ नहीं देना चाहिए। क्योंकि एक बार जब आपस का प्रेम, आपस का भरोसा आपस का विश्वास टूट जाता है; तो फिर वह उसी प्रकार फिर से नहीं उत्पन्न होता, यदि उत्पन्न होता भी है तो उसमें संदेह रूपी गांठ रहती ही है। जिससे वह संबंध फिर से उस विश्वसनीयता को प्राप्त नहीं होता। इसलिए जिससे हमारा सद्भाव है जिससे हमारा लगाव है ऐसे प्रिय मित्रों और बंधु जनों से प्रयत्न पूर्वक हमें सद्भाव बनाए रखना चाहिए।

Meaning – Poet Rahim says that this thin thread of mutual love should not be destroyed due to a little anger or disagreement. Should not be broken. Because once mutual love, mutual trust is broken; Then it does not arise again in the same way, even if it does arise, there remains a knot of doubt in it. Due to which that relationship does not regain that credibility. Therefore, we should try to maintain harmony with those dear friends and relatives with whom we have affection.
