रहिमन कबहुं बड़ेन के, नाहिं गरब को लेस ।
भार धरे संसार को, तऊ कहावत सेस ॥
अर्थात रहीमदास जी कहते थे कि महान लोग वही होते हैं जिनमें अहंकार नहीं होता। यह सोचना गलत है कि अमीर आदमी महान होता है, उसे कभी किसी बात का घमंड नहीं होता। वह सुख-दुख में सबकी सहायता करता है, सबका भला सोचता है अर्थात् सारे संसार का भार उठाता है, वह शेषनाग कहलाने का अधिकारी है।
rahimana kabahuṃ baḍa़ena ke, nāhiṃ garaba ko lesa.
bhāra dhare saṃsāra ko, tū kahāvata sesa.
That is, Rahimdas ji used to say that great people are those who do not have ego. It is wrong to think that a rich man is great, he is never proud of anything. He helps everyone in happiness and sorrow, thinks about the welfare of everyone i.e. bears the burden of the entire world, he deserves to be called Sheshnag.
